Very well located hotel, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was cleaned daily. We had a room with a larger sitting area and a sea view - it was very nice. The hotel is located at the harbours edge, with a small shingle beach in front. After returning to the hotel after a meal, it was always nice to have a few drinks from the bar and sit outside watching the world go by. The hotel is a good base to tour the islands, especially if you have a car. We were only able to book Dinner Bed & Breakfast and whilst the food was always acceptable we only ate dinner a few times. There are a few nice restaurants in nearby towns. The prices we paid were very reasonable, compared to Italy where we have spent a lot of time.
Although the rooms are air conditioned they were not very effective. I do suffer in the heat and so the level of cooling may be acceptable to others but it wasn't quite cool enough for me. I did ask if something could be done to effect better cooling but unfortunately it was not possible. The pool is a good size and was always clean but it is enclosed on all four sides and so the view is of rendered walls or the glass windows to reception. Although it is advertised as free parking, the spaces are next to a supermarket and non residents park in them. However, there is a reasonable amount of free parking nearby and we never had too many problems. This may seem like a lot of complaints but we would be glad to return.
This hotel is a great place to base yourself for touring the island. You should consider a room and breakfast option only as there are good restaurants nearby. Hire a car and see the island - you will be pleasantly surprised how quiet it is. If you only go to one place, visit Vidova gora, great views of the island. The car hire rates offered by the hotel were as good as we could find on the internet. We started in Dubrovnik for a few days and then hired a car to drive along the mainland to get a ferry to Brac. If you do hire a car and need to get back to the mainland to fly home, make sure you aim to catch a return ferry two sailings in advance of when you really need to go as they get really busy during the summer weekends. There is only one sandy beach, which is on the other side of the island. However, you can purchase cheap air beds for lazing on the shingle beaches. The attached photo is the view from our room.
